Steven Esom – Chairman
Steven has been the major shareholder of Product Chain since 2011, building on his background in developing successful retail and consumer products brands. Steven spent four years as an Operating Partner at Langholm Capital, a consumer sector focused Private Equity Fund investing in emerging brands in fast growth consumer markets. He was Non-Executive Director of Tyrrells Potato Chips and Chaired Bart Spices; both brands were repositioned and continue to enjoy strong growth.
Steven’s retail career includes serving as Executive Director for food at Marks & Spencer, and previously as Managing Director of Waitrose, rapidly expanding their business with two major acquisitions and leading the successful repositioning, having initially joined the John Lewis Partnership in 1996 as the Waitrose’s Director of Buying. Before joining the Partnership, Steven spent much of his career at Sainsbury’s in commercial roles including a period with U.S. subsidiary Shaws.
He has served as a Non Executive Director of Carphone Warehouse, a founder and Non-Executive Director of Ocado, and Chairman of the Princes Rural Action Programme, established as part of ‘Business in the Community’. He is currently the Chair of British Retail Consortium Trading.
Fiona Esom – Business Development Director
The majority of her career was with Shell UK Oil, Fiona Esom has a strong background in business-to-business sales and marketing and has previously worked for Charterhouse Bank and as a consultant to KPMG. Enjoying significant exposure to the food manufacturing and retail industries, Fiona contributes innovative ideas and a unique perspective to the Product Chain team. Through her networking expertise, she has developed relationships with trade and governing bodies to go beyond the normal industry contracts. Fiona has extensive project management experience and a sensible approach to business objectives.
